“It comes up to come out. Let truth prevail!” – Margie Nix

I woke from a very vivid dream on June 12, 2020, and I heard the Lord say, “I will guide you with My eye.” I immediately looked up the scripture. It’s from Psalm 32:8, when the Lord declares this promise to David, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”

I couldn’t wait to dive into a word study and dig out all the nuggets from that promise! I know, to get the fullness of the scripture, it’s important to read it contextually. What does the passage say, in full? What does it say before and after the verse? As I began to study it, I immediately saw some things come to life. For the sake of time and size of this blog, I will skip to the meat of what I gleaned.

This promise of being instructed, taught, and guided by the Lord came as a result of seed sown by David. Here are the seeds I see that he sowed:

Verse 5: “I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,’ And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.”

Seeds of Humility and Vulnerability
David made himself vulnerable to the Lord. He made the decision to no longer hide. Obviously, the Lord sees everything, hidden or open. However, we must come to the place where we no longer live in denial and hiding. We have to acknowledge the areas of sin in our lives and come clean. You may think you have no sin in your life. Yet, are you walking in perfect faith? The word of God says whatever is not of faith is sin.

Seeds of Responsibility and Repentance
David said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord;” He took responsibility that the transgressions were his, no one else’s. He didn’t say that someone else made him do it, or it was because of his circumstances, or because this or that; he took full responsibility.

David’s seeds of humility and vulnerability, and responsibility and repentance brought forth a great harvest in his soul and for his future. To have the counsel of the Lord, with His eye upon us, being led, instructed and taught by Him is the greatest reward! May we all walk in the way of the Lord.
