“It comes up to come out. Let truth prevail!” – Margie Nix

While working, I came across some notes I made while in prayer one night at our prayer gathering. I was praying for someone dear to my heart, praying that they would stay pure in their motives in ministry, and that the Lord would keep them and guard them in their endeavors, and I prayed it for myself and everyone else, too! I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me these words:

1. Purified steps are weighty steps.

2. Purified motives create momentum.

As I prayed into those statements, they became clearer to me, and what a word for all of us in ministry or any form of leadership!

1. We must allow the Lord to purify our steps – our lifestyles, actions, behaviors. When we do, as we step out into our assignments, our presence in a space or place will have “weight”, it will have influence and impact.

Impure behavior and lifestyle will always cause you to stumble and take others down with you.

2. We must ask the Lord to purify our motives by searching us and shining light on things that need cleansing. Pure motives will create a momentum that will eventually lead to a wave that changes atmospheres, shifts things, and truly makes a difference in the world around us.

Impure motives will always bog you down and limit your reach, agility, and ability to do something truly great in the Kingdom.

I think we must choose in 2024. Will we have pure steps and pure motives; doing what we do for the glory of God and the good of others? Or will we be out for #1, always looking for ways to make self more prominent, prosperous and seen?

Lord, purify your Body.
